Sigi Am Thor

Sigi am Thor, born in Aurich/North Germany in 1970, studied German and Romance literature at the Free University of Berlin before she began studying painting at the University of Art in Valencia, Spain in 1993. She continued her painting studies at the University of Mainz. From 2002 to 2006 she studied sculpture at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste - Städelschule with Prof. Tobias Rehberger and graduated in 2006 as a master class student with Prof. Ayse Erkmen in the field of interdisciplinary art.
Among other things her work was presented at the OpenArtFestival Freiburg, in the exhibition hall 1A, the Galerie Perpetuel and the Kunstraum Kaost in Frankfurt.

My work includes painting, photography and installation, examining the relationship between color, space and time, and examining various materials and surfaces. I prefer transparent paper and textiles made of silk.
