Antonella Spada

Antonella Spada lives and works in Rimini. A technical senior high school graduate, she has always pursued her interest for painting, and art in general, a gift from her father, a painter himself.

Her concrete, positive, instinctive, varied approach to the world, nature and culture is closely related to the materials used for her works: oils, mixtures, plaster, bitumen, charcoal and pencil, with the overlapping of woven textile and paper. Peculiar are the contrasts she creates with gold and silver and cooked oils, as well as the choice to oppose precious substances to crude oil derivates. Antonella Spada widely uses female faces and figures, to whom the artist gives new life, a present of an intimate, never stereotyped individuality. Works vibrant with matter and sign freedom, characterized by quick polychrome and elegant color layers.
